Service Description

Beth is an embroidery & textile artist and she creates the most wonderful stitchscapes. During her workshops, you will be able to put together a selection of beautiful, festive cotton fabrics of your choosing to create a fabric collage on which to embroider over. Ideal for beginners and advanced stitchers alike, you will learn some basic hand embroidery stitches and have fun adding colour and sparkle to your embroidered piece. Initially working in an embroidery hoop, once you are done the embroidery will be backed with felt (to hide those knots and loose threads on the back), cut out and stitched onto a card ready to give to a special someone this Christmas. Or you may choose to create a fabulous Christmas decoration to hang on your tree or wall. Included in the workshop are: All fabrics (backing fabric, felt and printed cottons), trimmings, embroidery threads and card stock and envelope (two sizes available). If you would like to bring special items from your own stash to really personalise your card then please do. Please bring with you if you can: Sewing tools/aids you are comfortable with, including a selection of embroidery needles and a small pair of fabric/embroidery scissors. We will have a few pairs of scissors on hand to share and needles for anyone not able to bring their own. This workshop runs from 10am - 2pm, with a break for lunch.
